TDS Virals News, Peshawar: Prices of kitchen essentials in Peshawar remained largely stable compared to the previous week. This information was revealed in a weekly market survey conducted by Business Recorder on Sunday.

The survey assessed retail prices of vegetables, fresh chicken/meat, sugar, cooking oil/ghee, flour, pulses, tea, and sweets, among other items.

Vegetable prices remained unchanged compared to the previous week. Tomato and onion prices remained stable.

According to the survey, a kilogram of tomatoes is still selling for 70 to 80 rupees per kilogram. Onion prices also remained stable, retailing at 140 to 150 rupees per kilogram.

Ginger and garlic prices saw slight changes. Ginger is now selling for 550 rupees per kilogram, a slight decrease from the previous 600 rupees. Garlic prices have also fallen to ₹180 per kg, down from ₹200 per kg previously.

Fresh chicken and meat prices remained unchanged. Sugar prices also remained stable.

A 20 kg bag of sugar is now available for ₹2,500, slightly cheaper than the previous ₹2,600. An 80 kg bag also retailed for ₹12,500, down from ₹13,000 previously.

However, prices of flour and flour-based products, such as maida, semolina, and khokra flour, remain high. This remains a concern for consumers, as these are considered kitchen staples.

Guava prices remained between ₹150-200 per kg.

Thus, the prices of vegetables and fruits in the market remained unchanged, except for minor fluctuations.
