Of the 147,437 candidates who took the exam this year, 18,350 students passed, representing a selection rate of approximately 12.44%.

According to the UP system: UP Diliman had the highest number of students admitted, with 32.4%. Approximately 36.52% of students were admitted to other campuses outside of Diliman, Manila, and Los Baños. What does the data say? According to UP President Angelo Jimenez: The total number of applicants increased by approximately 9% this year. Last year, 17,996 students were selected, while this year 18,350 students succeeded. But the percentage decreased slightly (from 13% to 12.44%) because the total number of applicants increased.
Significantly, the success rate of students from public schools is steadily increasing, shattering the perception that UP is a university for only “elite” students.
