Two brothers arrested for selling smack under the guise of a general store in Madhopur
Gopalganj News: Gopalganj sensational case has come to light from the Madhopur police station area (Madhopur Bazaar) in Gopalganj district, Bihar. Acting on a tip-off, police busted an illegal drug trade operating under the guise of a general store. The police team seized a large quantity of smack, narcotic solution, and empty wrappers from the scene and arrested two brothers.
Accused of selling drugs to young people under the guise of a shop-Station Head Vikas Kumar stated that police received a tip-off that smack and other narcotics were being sold openly under the guise of grocery items at a general store in Madhopur. Upon receiving the information, the police team took immediate action and raided the store.
During the search, approximately 4.5 grams of smack, packed in 11 packets, was recovered from a matchbox hidden in the back of the shop. The estimated market value is estimated to be around ₹4 lakh.

School students were being targeted-The investigation revealed a shocking revelation that the primary targets of this network were local youth, particularly school students from Madhopur Higher Secondary School. Underage students were being easily provided with drugs under the guise of a general store, causing considerable anger among local residents.
Links to a supplier in Siwan-The arrested accused have been identified as Ankit Kumar and Abhishek Kumar (father Dhirendra Prasad), residents of Madhopur.
Upon rigorous interrogation, the two brothers revealed the name of the main supplier. They stated that they contacted Rupesh alias Jhunjhun Singh, a resident of Kapdipur village in the Naviganj police station area of Siwan district, over the phone to procure drug consignments.
FIR Registered Under the NDPS Act-Madhopur police have registered a case against both accused under the NDPS Act and have initiated an investigation. Station House Officer Vikas Kumar stated that raids are being conducted at possible locations to arrest the main supplier, Rupesh alias Jhunjhun Singh, and that the remaining individuals involved in this syndicate will also be apprehended soon.
