Bhore/Gopalganj News: A training program for block-level officials and staff was organized at the Skill Development Center to prepare integrated development action plans in gram panchayats in accordance with local needs and priorities. During the training program, District Magistrate Samir Saurabh placed special emphasis on the quality and transparent implementation of development plans.

The DM instructed the concerned officials and staff to ensure that development work undertaken in gram panchayats is based on local needs and that transparency be maintained in the implementation of the plans. He emphasized the importance of ensuring the quality of development work and implementing the plans effectively.

Deputy Development Commissioner Gaurav Kumar, along with officials and staff from various blocks of the district, were present at the program.

Deputy Development Commissioner Gaurav Kumar stated that under the VB-G-RAM G scheme, integrated development plans are to be prepared at the gram panchayat level based on local needs and priorities. To achieve this, the current status of the Panchayats, available resources, and local needs will be assessed. This integrated action plan will cover key areas such as water, security, rural infrastructure, livelihoods, climate, and disaster mitigation. Its objective is to prioritize development plans based on local needs while optimally utilizing the resources available to the Panchayats.

The plan will prioritize essential infrastructure in rural areas. These include check dams, ponds, rural roads, Anganwadi centers, school buildings, skill centers, and storage structures, among other essential development works. Furthermore, flood-related works will also be incorporated into the action plan based on the local conditions and needs of the Panchayats. This will enable planned action to mitigate the potential impact of disasters and strengthen infrastructure in rural areas.

During the training, the chief trainers explained that the developed Gram Panchayat Plan should be prepared as a saturation-based and future-oriented local development plan. Emphasis was placed on preparing this plan in line with the vision of a developed India @ 2047. To achieve this, an integrated assessment of the resources available in each Gram Panchayat, local needs, and development potential will be conducted.

This process will ensure that plans are selected based on the actual needs of the Panchayats and that available resources are effectively utilized.

The officials and staff involved in the training program will train relevant Gram Panchayat-level staff in their respective blocks. Information regarding local needs and priorities will then be collected from the Panchayats. After compiling and consolidating the plans prepared at the Panchayat level, an integrated action plan for local development will be prepared. This process will work towards a more systematic implementation of development projects in Gram Panchayats.

Officials from various departments, including DRDA Director Rakesh Kumar Choubey, NEP Director Baiju Kumar Mishra, District Program Officer Dilip Paswan, District Finance Manager Indra Vijay Ojha, and Young Professional Santosh Kumar, were present at the training program. Program officers, junior engineers, Panchayat technical assistants, accountants, executive assistants, Panchayat employment officers, BFTs, and other relevant officials and staff from all blocks of the district participated in the training program.

This initiative to prepare an integrated development action plan for gram panchayats in Gopalganj focuses on linking local needs with development plans. Following the training, plans will be prepared and consolidated by assessing needs and priorities at the panchayat level.
