Tds Virals News, Today Team Update Vikram-1 => Saturday, July 18th, was a historic day in the history of India’s space sector. Hyderabad-based private space company Skyroot Aerospace successfully launched its first orbital launch vehicle, Vikram-1. Vikram-1 successfully placed a payload into low-Earth orbit at a distance of 450 kilometers.
This mission was named “Aagaman.” Vikram-1 launched from the first launch pad of the Satish Dhawan Space Centre (SDSC-SHAR) in Sriharikota, Andhra Pradesh. This marks the first time an Indian private company has successfully launched satellites into orbit using its own self-developed orbital rocket.
India has now become the third country, after the United States and China, to successfully launch a rocket from a private aerospace company.
Named after Dr. Vikram Sarabhai, the father of India’s space program, the 24-meter-tall Vikram-1 rocket is constructed entirely from a lightweight carbon composite structure. It operated with three solid fuel stages and a liquid orbital adjustment module. It had the capability to place a payload of up to 350 kg into a 450-kilometer low Earth orbit (LEO).
The mission also carried a lab-developed “Diamond Lotus” rocket from Bengaluru-based company Cosmos Diamonds. This mission was the next major step after Skyroot’s successful Vikram-S suborbital mission, “Prarambh,” in 2022.

With that mission, Skyroot became the first private company in India to successfully launch a rocket. Now, with the “Aagaman” mission, the company tested orbital launch vehicle technologies, which will pave the way for future commercial space launches.
